Pelz Gymnasium is the oldest of the Southern athletic facilities and is utilized for women's gymnastics, women's swimming, volleyball, as well as physical education classes and intramurals/recreation.

The facility has a recently renovated six-lane pool and an independent, auxiliary gymnasium specifically for women's gymnastics practice. Located directly behind Pelz Gym is a fenced-in softball field and separate soccer practice field.

All of the Southern facilities have played host to collegiate and scholastic championship events.
